From March 1, 2021, it is mandatory for foreign students to subscribe to the National Health Insurance and pay insurance bills.
•
The studuents who pay the National Health Insurance can receive the same National Health Insurance benefits as Koreans.
•
If you meet some specific conditions, you can apply for exemption from joining the National Health Insurance.
Subjects can be exempted from joining the National Health Insurance

Japan — joining the Japanese National Health Insurance

Exemption within the period of stay in Korea.

Japan — joining Japanese private insurance

Up to 1 year exemption
Application Period

You can apply via the link we sent you in the email.
1.
Hirevisa will send you an email after confirming your application.
2.
After completing the National Health Insurance Exemption Application to the Corporation, we Hirevisa will send you another mail to let you know.
3.
When all procedures are completed, we will send you an email with the result of whether or not to grant exemption from National Health Insurance.
* Students will receive a total of 3 emails. Please follow the email procedure.
