Any student who entered Korea with a D-2 or D-4 visa is eligible to apply for an RC. In this case, you must apply for an RC within 90 days after entering Korea.
If you register the school you will attend in Korea, we will inform you of the application schedule.
You can apply for an RC in the HireVisa app. Please follow the steps below.
1. Please install the HireVisa app.
2. Tap the Stay Administration tab.
3. Enter your information for identity verification and select the school you are attending in Korea.
4. Tap 'Issue RC' to apply.
If you missed the group application period, you must visit Immigration individually to apply for RC issuance.
Please note that you must make an appointment before visiting Immigration.
Be sure to apply for an RC within 90 days after entering Korea!
Once your RC application is complete, you can check your current progress in the Stay Administration tab.
If you cannot see the progress status in the Stay Administration tab, please leave an inquiry.
Fingerprint registration schedules vary by school, so it is difficult to provide one general answer.
Usually, fingerprint registration takes place within 2~3 weeks after RC application.
The exact schedule is determined by the immigration office, and we will inform you as soon as it is confirmed.
Once the date and location are confirmed, you can check them in the Visa Administration tab.
An RC refers to the physical card that you can carry, like an ID card.
An RC number is a unique number assigned when an RC is issued, and it is the same as the number printed on the RC.
If the reservation button is displayed, you must make a reservation.
If you visit without a reservation, there may be excessive waiting times due to crowds.
If the time and location are displayed without a reservation button, you do not need to make a separate reservation.
Please check the guided schedule and location before visiting.
The RC progress status changes after a HireVisa manager reviews it.
It may not have been updated yet, so please check again after 1~2 days.
If you completed fingerprint registration by visiting the immigration office directly, please register the fingerprint registration date in the app.
When fingerprint registration is held at school, many students visit within a limited time.
If you visit without a reservation, it may be difficult to register fingerprints on-site.
Please make a reservation before visiting and arrive at the location at your scheduled time!
If you are registering fingerprints at the immigration office, please visit the jurisdiction office on the date guided by HireVisa.
The date and location can be found in the Visa Administration tab.
RC issuance takes about 8~10 weeks after application,
and it may be issued earlier or delayed depending on the circumstances of the Immigration Office.
Once issued, you can check the pick-up location and time in the Visa Administration tab.
The timing of RC number assignment may vary depending on the relevant Immigration Office and school.
If you urgently need to check your RC number, please leave an inquiry with the reason you need it.
If you leave Korea while your RC application is in progress, your RC application will be canceled immediately. This includes multiple-entry visa holders.
In this case, your RC application will be treated as invalid, and group application through HireVisa will no longer be possible.
If you urgently need to leave the country, please let us know along with the reason.
If you have completed your RC application, you can check the progress in the Stay Administration tab.
If you have not applied for an RC yet, please proceed with your RC application first.
If your landlord does not provide the required documents, please register an inquiry using the steps below.
1. Please register .
2. When registering the inquiry, set the inquiry type to 'RC Documents'.
3. In the inquiry details, please describe what you discussed with your landlord. A brief explanation of the situation is also fine.
4. Please leave your phone number.
5. HireVisa will contact you shortly after checking your inquiry. Please wait a moment.
Document review is generally completed within 1 to 2 days, so please wait a little longer.
If additional documents are required, we will send a notification email after the review, so please check the status in the app and your inbox.
You can submit new documents after the review of the previously submitted ones is complete.
Since review is usually finished in 1 to 2 days, please wait and then resubmit via the Document Box.
If the documents you submitted are incomplete, HireVisa will request supplementation for the missing documents.
If supplementation is needed, your RC progress status will change to 'Supplementation Required'.
Please check your progress status carefully!
If supplementation is needed, we will inform you of the reason and the documents that need to be supplemented.
Please carefully check your supplementation reason and required documents under 'RC progress status' in the Stay Administration tab.
You can check examples of the supplementary documents before submitting them, so please refer to the examples carefully before submission.
You can submit the required documents in the Visa Administration tab of the HireVisa app.
Be sure to check the reason for the supplement and submit documents that meet the requirements.
If you don't understand the reason, please let us know.
If the submitted photo does not meet the immigration regulations, it may be rejected.
If any of the following apply, you must submit a new photo. Please check carefully.
1. A photo taken of a printed photo
2. Background is not solid white
3. Ears or eyebrows are covered
4. The same photo as in your passport
If the above reasons apply, we recommend you go to a photo studio with a photographer to pass the review at once.
When applying for an RC, you generally need to submit the following documents.
1. Proof of residence
2. ID photo
3. Copy of passport
4. Visa
5. Certificate of enrollment
However, the required documents may vary depending on which university you are attending in Korea and your visa type.
If the RC extension application button is not displayed because of already registered information, please leave an inquiry.
If any of your previously registered information has changed, please include it in your inquiry.
Extension of stay can be applied for regardless of the school or application period.
Once you register your passport information and school, the extension button will appear.
You can apply when there are 4 months or less remaining until your stay expires.
If your school is not listed on the school registration page, please let us know.
If you paid the RC fee twice, please request a refund for the duplicate payment through the path below.
All (Menu) > Payment History > Select the relevant application and tap 'Request Cancellation/Refund'
If you select 'Duplicate Payment' as the reason, only the excess payment amount can be refunded without canceling the service you are using.
After submitting the documents required for your RC application, you must pay the fee.
The fee can be paid by credit/debit card, cash, and other methods.
If card payment is difficult, you can visit a convenience store after entering Korea to pay in cash.
When selecting convenience store payment, a personal barcode is issued, and you pay with cash and the barcode at a convenience store in Korea.
